They are fabrics specifically produced for use in premium cycling apparel: breathable, anatomical, technological.
They epitomize all the prestige of Italian design and are the choice of thousands of amateur and professional
teams around the world.
Aerofix™ is a combination of premium materials used in the elite collections. It is a double layer fabric comprised of carbon threaded AmetistaTM on the outside and red perforated AntiguaTM on the inside. When used at the hem, the Aerofix Gripper SystemTM effectively secures garments in place during exercise.
A winter version of the Aerofix™ premium material combination that is used in the summer collection. Aerofix AV is a triple layer fabric comprised of Ametista™, Antigua™ and on added middle membrane of WindTex® for winter use. When used at the hem, the Aerofix AV Gripper System™ effectively secures garments in place during exercise. When used in the bibs there is no windtex membrane to secure moisture management.
Warp-knitted fabric with brushed inner surface and particular elastic properties, management of dampness and dynamic thermoregulation. The soft and particularly pleasant hand of micro fiber is appreciated where comfort and look are appreciated.
A 200 g/m2 certified power Lycra® characterized by carbon threads woven through the material. Ametista has a subtle striped appearance due to the carbon filaments. The carbon element controls the stretch in the fabric, enabling muscle iso- lation to delay the onset of fatigue. It also reinforces the material strength so that the fabric can be lighter, while still stronger. Lastly, the carbon repels atmospheric electronic interference from cell phone towers and power lines that negatively affect performance on the bike. It is a 36% power Lycra® constructed using a honeycomb knit that allows the fabric to stretch in all directions instead of the traditional four. In addition to superior elasticity, the material has excellent moisture moving and temperature regulation capabilities.
A 135 g/m2 weight, 22% Lycra®, this is the signature red backing of the AerofixTM premium material combination, used in the FormaRed-CarbonTM garments. The internal surface is a red semi-perforated material that creates small pockets of air next to the skin, allowing it to breathe.
Fabric with a special double-knit threedimentional structure in 100% Polypropilene Dryarn. Developed to obtain the maximum protection from cold and to transfer moisture away from the skin to the outer layer. This is possible due to the particular connection between the two layers, which convey perspiration through tube-like structures to the outside.
Corsa fabric is one of our most tested and proven fabrics. Used in the Giordano Custom Program and sponsored professional teams for many years. The fabric is composed of three layers. The outermost layer is smooth and resistant to wind. The middle layer is a WindTex® membrane that protects from rain, but allows vaporized perspiration to escape. Closest to the body is a soft-brushed material that retains warmth in its loft to insulate against winter weather.
Triple layer fabric formed from two fabrics in Polypropolene Dryarn. Extremely light weight (40 gr/m2) specifically developed for base layers. In the intermediate layer, a WindTex membrane blocks air from the outside, while at the same time releasing moisture from the body.
Our new top-of-the-line jersey fabric is incredibly light and soft. The 140 g/m2 weight material is 86% polyester microfiber and utilizes a compact weave of 40 threads per centimeter, which provides micro-compression and better coverage. This fine knit incorporates 14% spandex for elasticity as and has excellent wicking capabilities.
A 180 g/m2 nylon/Lycra® made with extremely fine thread used in the Body Clone collection bottoms. HC refers to the fabric’s high compression rate, while 44 designates the number of threads per centimeter in the knitting process. Previou- sly the highest thread count for nylon/Lycra materials was 36 TPC. This ultra compact knit translates into performance and comfort advantages in garments made with HC-44. It is lighter weight, yet offers the performance enhancing higher com- pression rates usually found only in heavier fabrics. With its high TPC count the material is softer and more supple than other nylon/Lycra fabrics. HC-44’s light weight also increases its wicking capability.
Carbon incorporation in performance fabrics promotes feelings of well-being in several ways. Electrical charges in the atmo- sphere (for example, from cell phone towers) can affect athletic performance by reacting negatively on muscular contraction, the source of cramping and fatigue. The special conductive qualities of the carbon fibers absorb and dissipate the electri- cal charges, preventing them from being retained around the body. By protecting the rider from these charges, the carbon lowers the concentration of lactic acid during activity and improves blood circulation, delivering oxygen more efficiently to the cells. Carbon shields the body from absorbing static energy, electrosmog and UV rays. It is naturally antibacterial and inhibits the development of odor causing bacteria. The carbon fibers also speed evaporation of moisture from perspiration, keeping the skin dry and cool. In addition to providing the benefits of carbon, the Host Carbon fabric is chosen for its elastic compo- sition that molds to, and moves with, the cyclist in motion. It’s highly breathable and has added abilities to speed moisture away from the skin to maintain a consistent temperature throughout activity. All of these properties combine in Host Carbon to promote feelings of well-being and delay the onset of fatigue.
The latest in fiber and knitting technologies have yielded Giordana’s best performance jersey fabric ever. 100% polyester microfiber yarns move moisture off the skin more rapidly than ever before. The unique miniature honeycomb textured knit allows airflow to keep you cool. Michron has a high UPF rating of 38.3
Quad constructed micro fiber fabric with differentiated stretch that allows fit control. The internal surface is a soft brushed material that traps body heat next to the skin for warmth, helping to maintain consistent body temperature. It also draws perspiration away from the body to keep the rider dry.
A 210 g/m2 hollow microfiber material. Moovix is a light weight certified power Lycra®. The unique honeycomb knit structure enables equal stretch in all directions, not just the two or four way stretch of standard spandex materials. Its high stretch and compression rate produces a micro-massaging effect on the skin during exercise that can increase blood flow to the muscles and delay fatigue. Due to its high opacity Moovix, effectively protects against UV rays. Moovix blocks 98% of UVA/B rays achieving the highest possible UPF rating of 50+. Its high moisture moving capability further augments the comfort that Moovix garments provide. Its lightly brushed inner surface is smooth and comfortable next to the skin. An antibacterial treat- ment inhibits the growth of odor causing bacteria in all Moovix garments.
Moovix Light™ shares many of the same properties and advantages as Moovix but in an even lighter weight version perfect for the hottest summer conditions.
Moxie nylon/spandex fabric is a 200 g/m2 weight fabric used in Sport level bibs and shorts. It is treated to promote fast wicking and evaporation of moisture. This treatment means that perspiration will not be trapped next to the skin, so riders will feel cooler and drier.
A 145 g/m2 stretch fabric with a silky touch, Nilo does the work of other performance fabrics, but with a softer hand. It is used in collections of the women’s Performance category because of its silky smooth feel and vibrant colorfastness. The material provides ample stretch to comfortably conform to a wide variety of body shapes and sizes. UPF 50+
A lightweight 200 gram nylon/spandex fabric, is quick-drying with a soft hand and is highly breathable. Nair also protects against harmful UV rays with a U.P.F rating in excess of 50+.
Soft michro mesh with 2-way stretch fabric that is designed to promote moisture movement. Used primarily in the uppers of the bibtights.
Our ultra-compressible and breathable microfiber material is wind and waterresistant. Due to its unique structure these characteristics are permanent, as they are actually built into the fabric. Extremely light weight and compactible, the material keeps the elements comfortably at bay with only the thinnest barrier.
A micro-fiber version of our Roubaix™ material, Super Roubaix™ moves moisture more efficiently and has better breathability. Garments made with Super Roubaix have slightly higher compression effects, which provide a massaging effect on muscles.
Techno brings advanced micro-fiber moisture transportation to winter jerseys. Perspiration is rapidly moved away from the skin as vapor ensuring riders feel warm and dry.
A triple layer fabric that is windproof waterproof and breathable, all at the same time. The intermediate layer is a light weight, elastic WindTex® membrane that blocks the elements, yet is still breathable. And the innermost layer is a pile lining of polypropylene Dryarn, which is characterized by an innovative open cell geometric structure that efficiently traps body heat. This inner layer works in conjunction with the WindTex layer to maintain a consistent temperature. TriGuard has a high thermal capacity and yet retains the advantages of being remarkably light weight and fast drying.
A 185 g/m2 micro-polyester stretch fabric ideal for printed garments. It has a soft compact touch that hugs the body with light muscle compression. Portofino surpasses the requirements for power Lycra® and has the ability to contain muscle vibrations, decreasing fatigue and enhancing efficiency of movement. UPF 50+
Shield is a 240 g/m2 certified power Lycra® that is manufactured using exclusive super dull polyester yarn, elastomer and the latest SUPER 40 generation weaving technology. It is an ideal fabric to utilize for printed sportswear because of its resi- stance to release color. Even after many uses and washes the colors remain vibrant and won’t run. Due to its density, Shield offers opaque coverage thanks to the use of a special polyester yarn.
From DuPont, this nylon/Lycra® blend combines cottony-soft comfort with the gentle support, superb fit and freedom of movement that only spandex can provide. It is a practical fusion of softness and stretch. Shield offers opaque coverage thanks to the use of a special polyester yarn.
A 200 g/m2 certified power Lycra® material used in the new Silverline collection of bibs and shorts. An innovative fabric, ma- nufactured using a unique multifilament polyamide, power Lycra yarns and the latest SUPER 40 generation weaving techno- logy. Its properties of high compactness and density, as well as its balanced multidirectional elasticitywith power effect, offers outstanding durability. Engineered to continue to perform over time, it is particularly suitablefor uses where durability, comfort and performance are required.
Triple layer fabric with an ideal weight for transitional seasons. The secret to its incredibly light weight and effective protection is the incorporation of an inner membrane that is thinner and more flexible than other impermeable membranes. The membrane regulates body temperature by repelling wind and water and maintaining a consistent body temperature.
