Challenge Giordana 2012 goes on: Sunday June 10th the fourth stage, GF Eddy Merckx, the only one in Verona.

Challenge giordana is the most attended circuit in Italy,  whith its six stages from April to July, between the provinces of Vicenza, Trento, Verona, Treviso and Sondrio. The 2012 edition of the Challenge, the third overall, has placed on file the first three stages,  GF Liotto and the GF fi’zi: k, in Vicenza, in late May, and Marcialonga Cycling Craft. Now granfondisti moves in Verona, Rivalta di Brentino Belluno, to fight for the fourth stage, Granfondo Internazionale Eddy Merckx scheduled as usual on the second Sunday of June. At the head of the organization of the event of Sunday, June 10th there is the staff of Giordana, the company of sportswear linked by a long friendship with the champion Eddy Merckx, who, as tradition, will be at the start of the race. In this fourth stage of Challenge Giordana there will be, as always, two paths: Granfondo of 155.5 km and Mediofondo of 85.6 km. For the most adventurous climbers there is also the time trial of the cannibal, from Fumane to Breonio. The race of Rivalta is a very important step for those who aim to win the Challenge Giordana, indeed after GF Eddy Merckx there will be only two more stops.

GF Eddy Merckx will start at 8.30am from Rivalta and among those who choose to undertake the adventure of Granfondo there will be Carlo Muraro (categoria Assoluta), Mauro Gerarduzzi (Senior), Andrea Gaetti (Master 1), Davide Graziani (Master 2), Oscar Girardi (Veterani 1), Massimo Sansonetti (Veterani 2), Antonio Foroni (Gentlemen 1), Stefano Mossini (Gentlemen 2), Riccardo Gambato (Super Gentlemen 1) and Romano Lanfredi (Super Gentlemen 2). Among women there will be Claudia Avanzi and Valentina Gallo. Also for Mediofondo there will be the best cyclists of Challenge Giordana: Andrea Masiero (Ass), Davide Spiazzi (S), Marco Fochesato (M1), Massimo Cappelletti (M2), Massimo Gaiardelli (V1), Gino Busato (V2), Claudio Bevilacqua (G1), Romeo Breda (G2), Onorato Semprebon (SG1) and Ivo Segato (SG2), with Sabrina Zogli (F1) and Erica Venturini (F2) among women.

After GF Eddy Merckx,  a break of two weeks, then there will be GF Giordana di Aprica (Sondrio), 24th June, before the final appointment, with GF Pinarello July 15th.
