Only a few more hours at the start of 8° Granfondo Internazionale Giordana, from Aprica, in the province of Sondrio, on Sunday morning (7.30am).
Participants are already more than 3000, among the last minute subscripted there are also important names, such as Alessandro Bertuola that last June won Granfondo and the two Colombian Jhon Jairo Botero Salazar e Jaime Jesid Amaya Chia.
It’s time for the final preparations. There will be 101 kilometres closed to cars, in particular Aprica - Edolo (since 6.45 am to 8.10am), S. Caterina - Gavia - S. Apollonia (since 8.00am to 12.00am), Mazzo - Passo Mortirolo - Trivigno - Pian di Gembro - Aprica (since 8.00am to 6.00pm), Monno - Passo Mortirolo (since 8.00am to 10.00am).
In terms of safety it is a great guarantee for the competitors, more than 3,000 coming from about 30 countries. Italians are coming about 80 provinces.

For GF Giordana there are three paths: Fondo of 85 km and 1850 m / dsl, Mediofondo of 155 km and 3600 m / dsl and Granfondo of 175 km and 4500 m / dsl.
For lovers of mountain climbing ithere is also Cronoscalata del Mortirolo.
Among the inscriptions come so far (but you can sign up to an hour before the start) there are important names such as Bertuola, Giuseppe Sorrenti Mazzocchi and Alfonso Falzarano, respectively, 2 and 3 last year, moreover Matteo Cappè, Roberto Cunico, Manuele Caddeo, Enrico Zen, Fabrizio Casartelli, Devis Miorin, Simone Boscaini, Paolo Sanvitale and the ex pro Gil Jacot-Descombes.

Among women there will be: Cristina Leonetti, Monica Bonfanti and Manuela Sonzogni, Astrid Schartmüller, Claudia Avanzi, Christiane Bitante, Marisa Coato, Olga Cappiello, Martina Arsié and Franca Peretti, for a very interesting challenge.

This year, Granfondo Internazionale Giordana reaches its eighth edition and celebrates it ... to the rhythm of music, both during the eve that during the day of the race. Sunday will be deployed along the paths Banda dell’Aprica, who will play on tPasso del Mortirolo, and two other groups, placed on Gavia and tin the climb of Mortirolo. A lot of events also Saturday 23rd with the live concert of “Innocenti evasioni” in homage to Lucio Battisti.

The race of Aprica, dedicated to Marco Pantani, has now the name of the Venetian company of cycling clothing, which is also the main partner of the circuit Challenge Giordana.
