Giuseppe Sorrenti Mazzocchi wins 6° Marcialonga Cycling Craft. Claudia Gentili wins among women. There were also Piller Cottrer, Mezzanotte, Aukland and Debertolis. GPM on Lavazè, as for Tour of Italy two days ago.
 
 
Marcialonga is always Marcialonga, in all seasons, effort is the constant of the race, whether it’s skiing, cycling or running. For Marcialonga Cycling Craft the participants have to face with two severe judges,  Monte San Pietro, and especially Passo Lavazè.
Giuseppe Sorrenti Mazzocchi,  grimpeur and aspiring lawyer, won after a flight of 50 km and signed a new record with 2h10’39’’ at an average speed of almost 37 km / h.
Claudia Gentili won among women.
The race was held only on the path Mediofondo due to a landslide near Forte Buso. Despite the change in plans only a few of the 2300 subscripted did’t start. In the starting line there were 2000 cyclists from twenty nations.

After the start from the center of Predazzo Marcialonga Cycling Craft proposed a few miles of false flat before you get into the trouble with the ascent of Monte San Pietro, but after the first few miles, in Ziano, started the first skirmishes. 
After the bridge that leads to Aldino,  Sorrenti Mazzocchi went to return the fugitives Sala and Palazzi. Then, when the climb began to become hard, Paolo Decarli tried to escape. However, in Aldino, Giuseppe Sorrenti Mazzocchi had the race firmly in his hands, while behind Decarli was gradually accumulating seconds of delay and behind him there was a group composed by Carlo Muraro, Iacopo Bettoni, Jarno Varesco ed Alexander Gufler.
After Monte San Pietro, Sorrenti Mazzocchi had already an advantage of one minute on Decarli. Kilometre after kilometre the advantages of Sorrenti Mazzocchi incresed and he won with the new record of the race
“I managed well in Mediofondo though I usually run over longer distances” said Sorrenti Mazzocchi, “I dedicate this victory to the daughter of my teammate Maurizio Barbolini, born a few days ago”.
Behind him arrived Carlo Muraro, leader of Challenge Giordana of whitch Marcialonga Cycling Craft is the third stage. Third Stefano Sala. Mico Mezzanotte fourth.

The challenge of today has also reserved an internal struggle between the protagonists of winter sports, Bruno Debertolis and Aukland Jørgen (winner last January in the Sky race) have made the race shoulder to shoulder, at least up to Lavazè. In the slope, Debertolis left Jørgen bihind and arrived 53°, important result for Combinata Punto3 Craft, while Auckland arrived 67°.


Record also for the women race (2h26’03) thanks to Claudia Gentili; second Christiane Bitante, third Claudia Wegmann.
The victory of Claudia Gentili was not a surprise, the cyclist of Pistoia won all the 14 granfondo of this season. “I must thank my team-mate Andrea Scolastico” said tClaudia Gentili, “He gave me his wheel allowing me to finish the race”.

A lot of participants, good organization and a beautiful day, the 6° Marcialonga Cycling Craft will be archived with the positive sign, now the organizers led by Alfredo Weiss will devote themselves to the third annual event:  Marcialonga Running of September.
